There are several things that we can do to minimize oral health problems. The most common among them are brushing at least two to three times a day and using floss to reach the areas that your toothbrush cannot clean to avoid cavities and other oral problems. Replacing your toothbrush after 3 to 4 months of use must also be observed because worn-out bristles will no longer be effective in removing dirt in your teeth making it more prone to decay.

These are just the simplest things we know ever since we were kids. We have our own ways to take care of our teeth but how can we say it’s time to call the dentist for help?

The following are some of the signs and symptoms which may need help from a dentist:

Swollen gums – gums turn red and have gone tender

Bleeding gums – when your gums bleed every time you brush or floss your teeth. This could be a sign of gingivitis

Pus around your teeth when you apply pressure on your gums which could be a sign of infection

You always taste something bad in your mouth even though you just brushed or gargled with mouthwash

Your teeth and gums suffer from pain when you eat hot or cold food.

You got loose teeth

A lot of people are very concerned with beauty that they even spend a lot just to have the skin tone they want, to have the latest hairstyle, to remove all the pimple marks in their face and a lot other things. On the other hand, some people are more concerned with their health. Because of this, they would intake different supplements that make the different systems of the body function well.

There is nothing wrong with being concerned with health OR beauty. In fact, it is a good thing that you want to keep the beauty in you, whether inside or out. However, it would be much better if we care for both aspects. Health and beauty usually come together. If you care for health, you also get beauty. On the other hand, being beautiful does not always necessarily mean that you’re healthy as well.

Having said that, we should always be careful with the products we use. There are already several health products that give positive effects on the skin and bring out the glow in you and using them would really be good for both your health and beauty. An example of this is Glutathione, an antioxidant that is traditionally used to protect the liver but is sometimes utilized to whiten the skin. On the other hand, choose the beauty products that will not harm your health by using organic products which are both health friendly and more effective than non-organic products.

Health and beauty are both important. So, are you healthy, beautiful or BOTH?
